Curtains
Measuring for a Curtain
Before you begin, gather the essentials: a metal tape measure, a pen, and paper. For the most accurate results, ensure all measurements are taken in millimetres (mm). If your flooring is yet to be installed, make sure to account for its height when determining the drop size. Taking these small steps now will help ensure a perfect fit for your curtains.
Simple Measuring
1. Measuring the width
Measure from the point where you want the Curtain Track to start and finish. We recommend that you overlap the window recess by at least 100mm on each side.
2. Measuring the drop
Measure the drop. We recommend that you overlap the window recess by at least 125mm at the top and measure where you want the curtain to finish.
Measuring Curtain Below Cornice to Floor
1. Measuring the width
Measure from the point where you want the Curtain Track to start and finish. We recommend that you overlap the window recess by at least 100mm on each side.
2. Measuring the drop
Measure the drop in three places and use the smallest measurement. Our factory will make necessary deductions and the Curtain will finish approximately 10-15mm above the floor.
Measuring Below Cornice to Floor and Wall to Wall
1. Measuring the width
Decide on the position of the curtain track. In this example, the track is positioned wall to wall and below the cornice. Then, measure at the top of the wall. Our factory will make deductions on the width by approx. 10-15mm.
2. Measuring the drop
Measure the drop in three places and use the smallest measurement. Our factory will make necessary deductions and the Curtain will finish approximately 10-15mm above the floor.
